Runaway Bride® Hydrangea ‘USHYD0405’ is a stunning, award-winning variety renowned for its unique garland-like stems and masses of crisp white blooms. Flower buds form at every leaf pair along the branches, creating elegant cascades of flowers that improve year after year. With no annual pruning required, this exceptional hydrangea produces blooms for upwards of four months, offering long-lasting colour from late spring through to autumn. Best grown in sun to part shade in well-draining soil. If your Runaway Bride® blooms develop a light pink tint, this is usually related to the soil conditions rather than a fault with the plant. A higher soil pH (above 7) can encourage a soft pink hue, and older blooms may also naturally take on a gentle blush as they age. Occasionally, temperature changes or environmental stress can influence colour as well. If you prefer the flowers to stay a cleaner white, you can gently lower the soil pH using an aluminium-based fertiliser. Aim for a pH around 6.5–7. Be mindful that dropping the pH too low may cause the flowers to lean towards blue.
