THE PRESS - PLANT OF THE MONTH - AUGUST 2007
Its common name is laurustinus and it originates from Southern Europe. Dark-green, slightly glossy leaves cover the plant year round, and in late winter, clusters of pink-and-white flower buds appear which open to pure white flowers.
Viburnum Tinus makes an outstanding informal hedge, which is also good for screening noise and providing wind protection. Plant the bushes one metre apart and trim after flowering. This plant tolerates frost, semi shade, sun, wind and coastal conditions. If left alone, it can reach a height of 1.5 metre wide by 3 metres high. Viburnum Tinus is available under the Gardening Solutionz brand in all good Garden Centres nationwide.
