KowhaiSophora-Microphilla KowhaiThis hardy evergreen native otherwise known as just 'Kowhai' has a distinct unique habit making its dense foliage particularly attractive in most gardens. It produces yellow flowers in spring with pollen attracting both native birds, Tui's and Bellbird's. They're incredibly stylish in structured landscapes amongst other such plants. They're suitable in most garden situations, are particularly hardy and tolerant to dry conditions but preferring regular water and fertile soils. This plant is approximately two year olds when it reaches the garden centre and will double in size over the next two years eventually growing to a height of 2 m by 1 m if desired. |
