Brunnera Jack FrostSiberian BuglossOrginally from the USA, this breathtaking herbaceous perennial has deep rich green foliage generously overlaid with a speckled and deeply veined frost. From late spring tiny clusters of baby-blue 'forget-me-not' flowers abound just above the foliage. This is an excellent choice for under planting either with evergreens or deciduous trees, brightening shady corners, and is hardy preferring moist soils. Brunnera 'Jack Frost' complements most modern containers, patios and looks spectacular mass planted. This plant is approximately eighteen months old when it reaches the Garden Centre and over the next two years will triple in size growing to a height of 40 cm x 40 cm, if desired. Colour For The Shade Garden For care: Add compost and fertiliser when planting and mulch in winter. Trim off straggly leaves and flowers in late summer. December 2007 - The Press Newspaper |
