THE PRESS - PLANT OF THE MONTH - OCTOBER - LITHOSPERMUM GRACE WARD
Graceful Spread Of Blue - Lithospermum Grace Ward
The coolest colour in the summertime garden is blue - thus this month's selection. Lithospermum Grace Ward (aka Lithodora Grace Ward) is one of the most popular ground covers around and prized for the exquisite, cobalt-blue, small funnel-shaped flowers that smother it all summer through. It also gets top marks for its perpetual coating of dark green foliage, for its hardiness and for its mat-forming habit.
It is great as a rockery plant, on walls and banks or as a general groundcover plant.
It goes well with the lime green flowers of Euphorbia Kea or the swordlike leaves of Astelia Silver Spears.
It loves full sun to partial sun and moderate watering.
It grows to a height of 30cm and a width of 1m - if desired.
Available from most garden centres.
